Tabletop Role-Playing Games

A Tabletop Role-Playing Game is a game in which players play out characters in a fictional setting to tell a story. Dice are optional, imagination is necessary.

I have been playing tabletop role-playing games since I was sixteen years old. I started with the infamous Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) 3.5 edition, after a group of high school friends gifted me the basic set. We had no idea what a role-playing game actually was at the time, but we were curious. While we never actually managed to play back then, those books planted a seed that grew over time.

Over the years I had various encounters with D&D, but it wasn't until 2021—following the COVID-19 pandemic—that I began to take the hobby more seriously. I joined an open table at the Zwergenschmiede game shop, and the RPG flame was reignited.

I soon began running regular tables at the shop, as well as running a couple of private campaigns. During this time, and following the OGL scandal of 2023, I started expanding my inventory. I fell deeply in love with Cairn, a simpler, versatile game system that is incredibly effective for public table.

Since then, my involvement in the Bernese RPG community has only grown. Today, I am a Community Manager for SwissRPG, where I organize regular sessions at Zwergenschmiede and coordinate with the local community to manage our presence at the HeroFest convention.

From time to time I also write in a blog: najahiri.blogspot.com.
